Jenn and Sean wed in the backyard of his family’s property overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee. Sean’s father is battling ALS, and the couple wanted to marry somewhere he could be comfortable. The backyard setting enabled him to have a front-row seat, which meant everything to them.
The couple readied themselves in Sean’s family’s home, and it was an emotional and sentimental morning. Jenn chose to do a first look with her dad, which brought a tear to everyone’s eye—even her bridesmaids’ as they looked on. It was truly an incredible moment! In addition, Jenn and Sean wrote each other letters and exchanged gifts, and both were in tears while reading and opening them. It was a rainy morning, but the rain, fortunately, subsided in time for their ceremony. Even as it rained, both Jenn and Sean were all smiles!
As for style, the couple wanted their day to feel classic, opting to feature textured flowers and modern paper details throughout. Their ceremony overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee took place underneath a wooden arch adorned with flowers and pampas grass from The Fuschia Peony. Meanwhile, Jenn carried a bouquet of seasonal blooms, featuring a mixture of large statement flowers and locally sourced wildflowers. Large dahlias and roses took center stage, while sprigs of pampas grass and garden roses filled out the bouquet.
The bride wore a timeless crepe gown with a bateau neckline and off-the-shoulder cuff sleeves. Moreover, she accessorized with a cathedral veil with lace trim, which made for stunning images as she walked down the aisle. Finally, her hair gathered into a classic updo which looked gorgeous all through the day and into the evening.
A clear tent housed the couple’s reception, and treated their guests to uninterrupted views of Lake Winnipesaukee and the sunset. A mixture of wooden farm tables and round tables draped in ivory linens were placed all over the family’s deck, thus providing plentiful seating. For a finishing touch, string lights were draped overhead. As the sun began to set, they lent a soft glow to the gathering.
