Courtney and Nathan’s wedding at Peckett’s on Sugar Hill was both modern and classic. All of the details of the day came together so beautifully, even when the weather caused the ceremony to be moved from its planned outdoor location to underneath the tent. Rain can sometimes add stress on a wedding day, but Courtney and Nathan were all smiles all day long.
The bride and groom each got ready in one of the many homes on-site at Peckett’s on Sugar Hill. This unique venue offers five homes that each sleep dozens of guests. The ladies got ready at the Iris Farm House, which is located on the property’s original dairy farm. Inside the house, every room is styled to perfection, with gorgeous light pouring in through the windows.
Although their wedding took place in October, Courtney and Nathan wanted their color theme to be bright and cheery, with pops of pink, blue, and yellow. So, we worked with Courtney to tie in that color palette throughout the day. From the hand-painted watercolor stationery to the velvet napkins, we planned out every single detail.
One of Courtney’s favorite flowers is the dahlia, so EH Floral made sure to include plenty both in her bouquet and in each floral installation. In fact, her bouquet featured one of the largest dahlias I have ever seen! The colorful arrangement also incorporated handpicked flowers, cascading buds, and greenery.
Courtney simply shone in her classic ball gown, which featured a fun pattern twist! The gown was crafted from Floral Fil Coupé, as a nod to the garden theme of the affair. To complete her look, she selected daisy earrings and a flowing cathedral veil which she wore for the ceremony.
Courtney and Nathan opted to do a first look, which I often recommend to my clients. Time and time again, I notice that my couples are able to relax as soon as they are together. With Courtney and Nathan, it was no different—you could feel the nerves beginning to wash away as soon as they had seen one another. Seeing my couples melt into each other for their first hug on their wedding day will always be one of my all-time favorite things.
