Valerie and Austin’s wedding at Toad Hill Farm was a vibrant ode to autumn. The two met through a mutual friend and discovered that they shared passions for cooking, hiking, and traveling. In fact, this couple loves being active so much that their first date was going on a run together! Austin proposed while they were on a hiking trip in Colorado, and they ran a half marathon the very next day.

Considering how much time this couple spends in the outdoors, it was no surprise that it was important to them to weave elements of nature into their wedding day. Toad Hill Farm, nestled among the White Mountains where they fell in love, was just the right venue for accomplishing that goal.

An Autumnal Palette for a Toad Hill Farm Wedding

While Toad Hill Farm is always a gorgeous venue, it really shines in autumn. The colorful leaves brighten up the landscape, lending extra cheer to celebrations and looking stunning in photographs. Autumn hues inspired the couple when choosing their color palette, which featured deep shades of burgundy paired with pops of orange, mauve, and teal. Their florist, Clementina Floral Co., crafted a bridal bouquet for Valerie based on their palette that was out of a dream! Mauve roses, orange dahlias, and chocolate cosmos took center stage, and sprigs of wildflowers filled out the bunch. It was a work of art that complemented the surrounding landscape so well. 

Valerie and Austin’s reception design also featured a vibrant autumnal palette. Marigold linens lined a mixture of round and farm-style tables, and amber glasses and honey-hued napkins on top added warmth. Accents of fern and pine lent dimension to the decor, along with dried fall foliage. In this gorgeous setting, guests were treated to an incredible evening complete with delicious food and endless dancing, all basked in the glow of cafe lights.

Valerie and Austin are vegetarian, so they wanted to feature seasonal and unique meatless fare at their celebration. Their main course was ravioli with kale-stuffed mushrooms and a pesto galette that their guests raved about all evening. Chef Joe’s Catering prepared both dishes and could not have been met with better reviews.

The Ideal Tented Wedding Venue

One of our favorite aspects of Toad Hill Farm is that, if you book it for your wedding, you’ll have the grounds to yourself for an entire weekend! The space will be yours from Thursday to Monday, allowing you to enjoy the weekend with your family and bridal party without ever having to stress about coordinating travel. Many couples opt to host their rehearsal dinner onsite, as well as a brunch the morning after the wedding. The additional time also allows a generous window for the installation of your rentals and your tent, which can take a full day.
