Gwen and Duncan were a wedding planner’s dream! Both work high-stress jobs in Boston and have little free time. So, they entrusted their fall wedding at Toad Hill Farm to our team! Their vision was elegant and contemporary, with pops of bold, warm color. 

Like myself, Gwen is a former coxswain, and many of the friends she invited were former teammates. She reminded me so much of my younger self! I loved getting to know her and Duncan, and I’m delighted to share these highlights from their September wedding.

A Personalized Wedding Day

Gwen and Duncan aren’t fans of many wedding traditions, which made their day so unique! They dislike fussy details and getting-ready shots, so they DIY-d their stationery and hired a HUGE hair and makeup team to get everyone ready in an hour flat. After their first look, the couple had portraits taken by Cole & Kiera Photography. Then, they enjoyed a private Jeep ride to Duncan’s family home in Sugar Hill, where they posed for a few more on the gorgeous, white wraparound porch. They spent the whole day by each other’s side and wouldn’t have had it any other way!

Gwen and Duncan also prioritized their guests’ experience. They have tight-knit relationships with their family and friends and wanted to show gratitude to everyone who has supported them! The dance party at their reception was legendary. Get Down Tonight managed to get everyone on the dance floor by 7:30, and no one left it until 11:00! Meanwhile, our team set up a cereal bar where guests could enjoy a sweet late-night bite.

Fall Wedding at Toad Hill Farm

This couple also put a personalized spin on their wedding ceremony at Toad Hill Farm. Their guests walked ahead of them to the ceremony location, up a grassy hill where a spectacular, panoramic view of the White Mountains awaited them. Then, Gwen and Duncan followed and walked down the aisle together! Gwen grew up attending the St. Paul’s School for Girls in Brooklandville, Maryland, and the ceremony interlude was the school song. Musicians from the school played live for the ceremony, then entertained during cocktail hour!
