Working with fellow New England wedding vendors to design a unique wedding concept is always an honor. Especially when Style Me Pretty and Martha Stewart feature the final product! Kate Preftakes Photography, Emily Herzig Floral Studio, and I gathered on the Estate of North Mowing’s historic 230-acre property in Springfield, Vermont, and staged this romantic garden wedding. It was an idyllic summer day in the countryside! From Emily’s whimsical florals to the colorful, hand-painted desserts, we hope you feel inspired by this elegant yet playful design.

Styled Wedding Shoot at the Estate of North Mowing

This shoot featured a blush and dusty blue palette to complement the estate’s architecture and gardens. The bride’s bouquet set the tone with cascading layers of locally sourced anemones, garden roses, and butterfly ranunculus.  Soft florets of lily-of-the-valley and blue tweedia in her knotted updo referenced the garden setting. Her Jenny Yoo gown, selected by bridal stylist Gabrielle Hurwitz, was the perfect complement with clean lines of satin and a plunging neckline. Meanwhile, the groom wore a dark blue suit pinned with a lily-of-the-valley boutonniere to match his bride.

The tablescape design began with rose velvet linens from BBJ La Tavola, which we layered with woven placemats to complement the wicker chairs. Atop the placemats, we set each guest’s place with playful ruffled-edge chargers, gold cutlery, and softly rose-tinted glassware. Pink taper candles set on elegant gold candlesticks tied everything together.

The lush floral arrangements by Emily Herzig that lined the center of the table were the indisputable highlight! Pink peonies took center stage while toffee roses, butterfly ranunculus, and jasmine vine accented the frilly blossoms. Then, to sweeten the celebration, every guest received a miniature cake and a macaron from Autumn Nomad. A frosted watercolor design with dabs of blue, yellow, and coral buttercream adorned the treats, which Emily also topped with fresh florals. They looked almost too good to eat!
