The Power of Community in a Shifting Season

Over the past month, I’ve had the opportunity to gather with fellow wedding planners more than I usually do…and let me tell you, it’s been a gift.

As we look ahead to the 2025 season, there’s a different energy in the air. The world feels a bit more fragile, and that uncertainty is seeping into all corners of life, including the wedding world. There’s a noticeable shift with couples are scaling back, trimming the extras, and being intentional with their choices. It makes perfect sense, but I won’t lie – it’s not exactly ideal timing for someone like me who’s in the middle of growing and building out a team. But hey, that’s life, right?

What’s been especially grounding during this time is the sense of community. These planner meetups have become something really special. They’ve offered space to connect, to reflect, and to remind ourselves that we’re not alone in navigating the ebbs and flows of this unique moment.

It brings me back to 2020, another wildly difficult time. While much of the world was slowing down and learning to bake sourdough, wedding planners were in full-on triage mode, rescheduling, redesigning, and doing everything possible to support our couples. That season felt relentless, but it also taught us resilience in a way we hadn’t known before.

Now, in 2025, echoes of that same challenge remain, but the pace feels different. And rather than just powering through, there’s more room for reflection, for collaboration, and for holding each other up.

I’ve always believed in the power of community, and this season is reinforcing that belief tenfold. We truly need each other. So hold onto your people, build those bridges, and lead with kindness. Unity isn’t just a feel-good phrase—it’s something we actively create.

As for us, we’re officially diving into our busy season. One beautiful wedding is already in the books, and we’ve got two more joyful celebrations coming up this weekend. We’re feeling incredibly grateful to be walking alongside our couples during such a meaningful time in their lives.
