A Joyful Three-Day Fusion Wedding at the Essex Spa

Some weddings stay with you long after the weekend ends — and Supraja and Adam’s wedding at The Essex Resort & Spa is one I will always hold close.

This was not just a wedding day, but a three-day celebration, layered with culture, family, laughter, ritual, and so much love. Set on a hot summer weekend in Vermont, the Essex Spa provided the perfect backdrop for a joyful fusion wedding that honored tradition while feeling completely personal.

The weekend began the night before with a vibrant Sangeet, filled with dancing, music, henna, incredible food, and heartfelt speeches. The energy in the room was electric — joyful, loud, emotional, and full of anticipation. It was the perfect way to open the weekend and bring everyone together before the ceremony.

The following morning began with a Baraat, a joyful procession leading into a Hindu ceremony held in the garden at the Essex Spa. Supraja is Indian, and Adam — a proud Mainer — embraced every part of the tradition with such openness and joy. Their ceremony beautifully honored Supraja’s heritage while reflecting the shared life they’ve built together.

Midway through the ceremony, a soft rain began to fall. Supraja later shared that she felt it was her father visiting her on her wedding day — a deeply moving moment that added even more meaning to an already emotional ceremony. It was quiet, beautiful, and unforgettable.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a relaxed and lovely lunch before heading off to rest and change for the evening celebration. That night, everyone reconvened at the newly finished farmhouse at the Essex Spa for cocktail hour and the reception. The space felt warm, inviting, and full of life.

The reception was everything you hope for — amazing toasts, joyful dancing, laughter, and speeches that perfectly captured who Supraja and Adam are. Both doctors who met while working at a hospital in Boston, they are two of the kindest, most loving, tender, funny, and genuinely good people — and they are surrounded by friends and family who reflect that same warmth. This celebration felt like a true extension of who they are.

From start to finish, this wedding was a joy to be part of. Thoughtful, emotional, celebratory, and deeply human — one of those weekends that reminds you why weddings matter so much.
