A Woodstock Inn wedding is a timeless New England experience, and Julia and Alex’s celebration captured everything that makes this Vermont venue so special. Set in the heart of Woodstock, the Woodstock Inn & Resort offers classic charm, gracious hospitality, and beautifully maintained grounds, all within walking distance of the village. It’s a venue that feels refined yet welcoming, making it ideal for a full wedding weekend.
The Woodstock Inn served as a true home base for guests, allowing events to flow seamlessly from day to day. With expansive lawns, elegant interiors, and a central village location, the inn created a setting where guests could relax, explore, and fully enjoy the celebration.
Guests arrived to thoughtful welcome bags featuring rattan totes filled with “his snack, her snack, their snack,” along with details cards, advice cards, and other personal touches that immediately set the tone for the weekend.
The rehearsal took place at the church just across the street from the inn, followed by a rehearsal dinner at the Simon Pearce Restaurant, offering an intimate and elegant start to the festivities.
Saturday brought both preparation and play. Rentals were delivered, and Undercover Tent installed the tent, tables, chairs, dance floor, and stage. Earlier in the day, guests enjoyed a river float on the Connecticut River, followed by a welcome party at the Woodstock Country Club. Lawn games, heartfelt toasts, and live guitar music made for a joyful and relaxed evening.
Wedding day took place on Sunday, with hair and makeup by Flynn in the main hotel rooms at the Woodstock Inn. Florals by Birds of a Flower added a soft, organic elegance that complemented the surroundings beautifully.
Julia and Alex were married at Our Lady of the Snows in a traditional Catholic ceremony. Following the ceremony, guests gathered outside for a joyful petal toss before returning to the Woodstock Inn for family photos on the grounds.
Cocktail hour was held on the inn’s front lawn, where the Woodstock Inn team served food and drinks as guests enjoyed the summer evening. From there, everyone moved into the tent for dinner.
The reception design was layered and inviting, featuring blue glassware, rattan chargers, scalloped charger plates, bread and butter plates, gold flatware, and printed menus. Chargers were sourced from Peak Event Services and Bloomberg, while flatware was provided by By Emma B, creating a tabletop that felt both polished and relaxed.
Julia and Alex were introduced into the reception to December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night), instantly filling the tent with energy. Music by Night Shift kept the dance floor packed all night long. One of the most memorable moments came when Alex, a musician himself, took the microphone and sang a few songs, adding a deeply personal layer to the celebration.
Later in the evening, Julia changed into a second dress, hats and glow sticks came out, and the dance floor took on an even more festive feel. The night wrapped up with an after-party in town in Woodstock, closing out the weekend on a high note.
Julia and Alex’s Woodstock Inn wedding was a beautiful example of how thoughtful planning, a strong vendor team, and an exceptional venue come together to create an unforgettable experience. From outdoor adventures to elegant receptions, every detail reflected their love of music, tradition, and bringing people together.
It was truly a joy to help bring this celebration to life in one of Vermont’s most beloved wedding destinations.
