Kees and Cordelia were married at Cordelia’s family home in Vermont, creating a wedding day that felt personal, meaningful, and deeply rooted in place. Private property weddings like this are some of our favorites. They allow couples to celebrate in a setting that holds real history, and they invite guests into something truly special.
Private property weddings also require thoughtful planning and careful logistics. From electricity and water to tent placement, parking, ceremony and reception flow, guest transportation, lodging, restroom needs, setup, breakdown, and waste management, every detail matters. This is where experience makes all the difference. With years of planning private property weddings, our team thrives in these environments and knows how to make complex plans feel effortless on the wedding day.
Kees and Cordelia’s wedding was created in collaboration with Erin of Nectar and Root, alongside Cordelia’s own artistic vision. Cordelia designed many of the wedding details herself, including the escort cards, which doubled as handmade paperweights. These thoughtful touches added layers of meaning and reflected her creativity throughout the day.
Cordelia began the morning quietly, doing her hair and makeup with her sister. She also created a special memory bouquet in honor of her mother, who had passed away. The bouquet was present during the ceremony and later placed at the head table, a subtle but powerful tribute woven into the celebration.
Cordelia got ready at her Aunt Alice’s home just down the road, where she and Kees shared their first look in the gardens. Guests were transported by shuttle to the ceremony site, which overlooked Mount Monadnock. The sweeping mountain views and open landscape created a stunning backdrop for the ceremony.
Tents, the dance floor, and ceremony benches were provided by Vermont Tent Company, helping transform the property into a welcoming and well-designed event space.
Bartending was handled by an exceptional team from Burdick’s in Walpole, New Hampshire. The lead bartender was Cordelia’s cousin, which added both warmth and familiarity to the service while keeping everything running smoothly.
Catering was provided by Gretchen and her team from The Porch. We work with Gretchen often, especially on private property weddings, where her experience truly shines. Dinner was served efficiently, hot, and beautifully presented, allowing guests to relax and enjoy the evening without interruption.
As the sun set over the hills, the celebration shifted into full party mode. Music by Clockwork kept the dance floor packed well into the night. Sweeping grasses, golden light, joyful guests, and nonstop dancing created a scene that felt both simple and unforgettable.
The day was beautifully captured by Katie Jean, with videography by Wood and Ether. Planning and coordination were led by

Kees and Cordelia were an absolute joy to work with. Their wedding was sweet, thoughtful, and grounded in love, family, and place. It was a beautiful example of how a private property wedding in Vermont can feel intimate, elegant, and deeply meaningful when guided by a strong team and a clear vision.
