On a gorgeous Saturday, September morning, Lindsay and Colin gave their lives to each other during a splendid ceremony before their family and closest friends. In a tragic turn of events, the Philips family lost Lindsay’s father three days before the wedding. So, the family incorporated the celebration of his life into the celebration of the newlyweds. The result was a magnificent wedding in Jackson, New Hampshire.

A Special Occasion

There was so much heart in this wedding, and Lindsay’s father was there in spirit in many ways. Lindsay’s father, Blair Brooks, was a physician, but he loved reading and writing poetry. One poem was put to music and sung during the ceremony. Lindsay’s sister read her dad’s speech, which he had prepared before his death. The couple released butterflies at the end of the service. Remarkably, while the couple was doing portraits, a bear came out of the woods and just sat and watched. Finally, both Lindsay and Colin changed their last name to Brooks in honor of her father.

Jackson, New Hampshire

The Jackson, New Hampshire area is gorgeous, and it’s known for its White Mountain views and endless forests. Lindsay and Colin took a family cabin and spent a year prepping it for their wedding day. The home had been in the family for many years, and Lindsay’s parents were also married there.  They wrote their vows and attached them to a shingle from the house they worked so tirelessly on for the event.

Lindsay and Colin are such a fun, unique couple, and it really was quite a wedding. Lindsay is a large animal vet and during the reception, she put overalls over her wedding dress and danced. Her dogs were part of the ceremony and reception. Overall, their Jackson New Hampshire wedding was gorgeous and perfectly matched to the happy couple.
