Many of my couples chose to get married in New England because of family ties or memories here. Sophia and Rich had a special connection to the White Mountains in New Hampshire since this is where Rich’s family has a ski house. The couple visits here quite often and have such a strong bond to this area. The couple met in Grad School at the University of Chicago and now make their home in Boston. So for their wedding, they needed to choose a venue that highlighted the scenery of the White Mountains! Toad Hill Farm was the perfect venue choice.

Toad Hill Farm is a historic property with guest cottages, making this an elegant space for a wedding weekend. My favorite part about this venue is that you get the entire property all to yourself for a full five days! This allows you to have intricate rentals, including spacious tents and furniture. 

Modern and Chic Wedding

Sophia envisioned a wedding that was timeless but with a touch of modern design. As we worked together to create her final vision, we chose a color palette of black and white, with touches of champagne and forest green. For this late summer event, it was a captivating palette! The bridesmaids wore white crepe gowns, which enhanced this luxurious affair. The groom’s party wore black, with the ladies in black chiffon and the men in black suits. Rich chose a perfectly tailored white suit with black pants and a black bowtie. For Sophia’s gown, she wanted something very chic and chose a mikado silk gown with a notched v neck. Her cathedral-length veil with lace trim completed her stunning wedding day look.

For the flowers, EH Florals created an incredible design featuring lush greenery, white and champagne flowers, and a touch of pink with King Protea. Sophia’s cascading bridal bouquet was highlighted with large King Protea and caramel David Austin roses. I loved the addition of seasonal flowers that added a beautiful texture. 

Tented Wedding at Toad Hill Farm 

When designing the layout for this wedding, the couple wanted to focus on the incredible views of the White Mountains. So for their ceremony, we chose to have it in the field, which overlooks the mountains. As guests arrived, they were in awe of the incredible views! The couple had an emotional ceremony with heartfelt handwritten vows. 

We chose large sailcloth tents with cafe lights on the ceiling for the evening reception. The color palette continued into the reception, with long greenery garlands placed on the head table, and dozens of candles added a soft glow. It was such a beautiful weekend, filled with love, joy, and warmth. The highlight of the evening was Sophia and her mom’s dance, which was wonderful! It was such a fun moment that I will never forget. I even saved a video of it!
