Kelly and Ian held their lakeside wedding ceremony on a family property in New London, New Hampshire. Then, they headed over to the Inn at Pleasant Lake for their tented reception and sunset portraits. Both are teachers at the Holderness School, and I had a wonderful time getting to know them throughout the planning process. Browse the pretty details from this day and find out how our team handled a last-minute location change!
With a week to go until the wedding, the couple decided to change the location of their ceremony. While they initially planned to host it at their reception venue, the Inn at Pleasant Lake, they found themselves drawn to a more sentimental spot. Kelly’s family owns a beautiful lakeside property in New London, and the bride knew it would mean so much to them if she exchanged her vows there. Without a planner, this last-minute switch wouldn’t have been feasible, but our team was determined to make it happen!
We kicked our preparations into high gear, sourcing rentals and transporting everything to the property. In addition, we hired a shuttle service and created signage to show guests their way to the ceremony site. It wasn’t easy—the property was difficult to access, especially in a large vehicle—but in the end, it was completely worth it. We will always do whatever we can to bring our couples’ visions to life! If you have an idea that will enhance your special day, you can always present it to us (even with seven days to go!), and we will use our extensive experience and connections in the events industry to make it happen.
We rented a clear-top tent for the couple’s reception at the Inn at Pleasant Lake and used a mix of round and farm-style tables to create seating for their guests. The tablescapes featured coastal blue linens with various copper accents to elevate the simple blue-and-white color palette. Meanwhile, the couple’s guests picked up copper mugs on their way into the event that acted as unique escort cards! Bud vases with white flowers and garlands of eucalyptus from Posies by Trim were the prettiest finishing touch.Â
In addition, the number cards on each table featured childhood photos of the bride and groom to give the space a more personalized feel. And who could forget the stationery accents from Impress Me Designs? The couple’s invitation suite and day-of stationery all featured a coordinating color palette and design motifs to create a sense of cohesion. These small details are the key to planning a beautiful, distinctive wedding!
The Inn at Pleasant Lake is such a charming New England wedding venue, and I’m so glad we could work with them to plan Kelly and Ian’s special day.
