A summer wedding at Lakefalls Lodge is the kind of experience couples dream of when they imagine gathering their favorite people in one place to slow down, connect, and celebrate. Rachel and Dan’s wedding weekend did exactly that. Set deep in the woods and surrounded by water, their celebration invited guests to truly settle in and enjoy everything this magical venue has to offer.
Located on a beautiful pond and run with care by Don and Joyce Healy, Lakefalls Lodge is a destination that feels both peaceful and personal. Each house on the property has its own character and architectural details, creating a sense of discovery throughout the weekend. Rachel and Dan stayed in the Boulder House, a favorite for its unique design and cozy, tucked-away feel, while other guests enjoyed the charm of the main lodge, built in classic Adirondack style.
Guests arrived on Friday and were welcomed with a relaxed, inviting welcome party held inside the main lodge. The evening was catered by Brussel Catering, setting the tone for a weekend focused on good food, connection, and ease. From the very beginning, the energy felt calm and joyful, exactly what a weekend wedding at Lake Falls Lodge is meant to be.
On wedding day, the property came alive in the most natural way. Guests spent the morning hiking, boating on the pond, and wandering the grounds while Rachel and her people got ready. The pace was unhurried, allowing everyone to enjoy the setting before the day’s events began.
The ceremony took place in the walled garden, overlooking the pond and the lodge beyond. Surrounded by greenery and water, it was a beautiful and intimate setting that felt deeply connected to the landscape. Guests made their way to the ceremony by golf cart or chose to walk across the picturesque stone bridge, adding to the sense of arrival and anticipation.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Carlos on Spanish guitar, creating a soft, romantic atmosphere that carried through the entire afternoon.
Following the ceremony, guests gathered in the courtyard outside the barn and Shinbone Shack for cocktail hour. The bar was set up outdoors, and The Porch did an exceptional job serving both food and drinks. Carlos continued to play guitar, tying the ceremony and cocktail hour together with a cohesive musical feel.
Rachel and Dan spent time taking photos with Lindsay before joining cocktail hour, soaking in the joy of the day before transitioning into the evening celebration.
Dinner was held downstairs in the barn, where guests were treated to a thoughtfully prepared vegan meal served family style by Gretchen and her team from The Porch. The tabletop design was one of the standout details of the evening, featuring rustic rattan chargers, amber goblets, and soft napkins adorned with lemons and kumquats. The overall feel was relaxed, warm, and subtly European, perfectly suited to the setting.
Toasts were shared, laughter filled the room, and dessert and coffee followed dinner before guests moved upstairs for dancing. Music was provided by Soul City, keeping the dance floor full well into the night. Espresso Dave arrived with his coffee cart, ensuring everyone was well caffeinated and ready to keep dancing, which they happily did.
The following morning, guests enjoyed a simple grab-and-go brunch before heading home, bringing a relaxed and thoughtful close to the weekend.
Rachel and Dan were a joy to work with over the year and a half we spent planning together. Seeing their Lakefalls Lodge wedding come to life, surrounded by nature, intention, and so much love, was incredibly rewarding. Their celebration was a perfect example of how powerful a weekend wedding can be when the setting invites people to slow down and truly be present.
