Emma and Thomas had a gorgeous summer wedding on Lake Winnipesaukee at Emma’s family home. The two reside in Austin and have a sweet baby boy, Benji! A few years ago, I planned the wedding of their neighbors, Stephie and Ben. They kindly connected Emma and Thomas with our team, and we provided full planning services for their backyard celebration!

Planning a Wedding on Lake Winnipesaukee

Our experience planning weddings at lakeside properties was vital for this three-day affair. Accessing the home and carving out space for the tent and furniture rentals was tricky, as were the transport logistics. In addition, we needed to coordinate access to power and water for the couple’s caterer. Most lake properties aren’t four-season homes, so this was no piece of cake! But our great team got it done seamlessly. If you’re also planning a wedding on Lake Winnipesaukee, hiring a planner is an essential first step!

Summer Backyard Wedding Colors

From start to finish, this day featured a vibrant color palette inspired by summer. Thomas went outside the box and chose a pink suit, which he paired with a floral necktie. Meanwhile, Emma’s bridesmaids wore mismatched silk slip dresses in whimsical shades of lavender, powder blue, turquoise, and coral. However, Emma’s bouquet by Lotus Floral Designs was the star of the show! Black-eyed Susans, purple zinnias, and coral dahlias stood out in the organic arrangement. It looked like it was plucked from a wildflower meadow!

The couple’s tented reception also featured bold colors, especially in the tablescapes. Pale pink tablecloths and citron napkins from BBJ La Tavola perfectly complemented the turquoise place cards by Southern Calligraphy. Amber drinking glasses, periwinkle tapers, and bunches of colorful florals tied everything together. In addition, we loved the couple’s seasonal wedding cake from For Goodness Cakes! A selection of summer fruits clustered around each layer and added color to the minimal design.
