Michelle and Cole came to me because they were guests at another wedding I planned. In fact, our previous couple, Elif and Peter, were guests at Michelle and Cole’s wedding. Michelle is a nurse, and Cole works in the family business, and the couple lives outside of Boston. They got married at their local parish and then had their reception in their backyard. This backyard wedding in New England came out so beautiful, and I’m so glad I got to work with friends of Elif and Peter.

Creating a Guest List

Michelle and I planned this wedding when things were very uncertain. We started with a thirty-person guest list, and as restrictions eased, we added more people. Every single person who was invited attended. There were no declines. People were ready for a party!

Backyard Wedding in New England

We had a clear tent by PEAK with pretty lighting installed by Drape Art. Instead of having formal seating, Michelle and Cole opted for several rounds, lots of high tops, and several lounge areas. They also decided on several passed appetizers along with food stations catered by Gourmet Delights. It worked out so well and felt like a really long cocktail hour. The band was the Silver Arrow Band, and they even extended their contract for another hour because everyone danced the whole night long! It was such a wonderful party.

They say you are the sum of the people you surround yourself with. Well, Michelle and Cole are absolutely beautiful and good humans, and their friends are extremely kind and loving. I think every guest at that wedding complimented and thanked me. I will always smile when I think back to this backyard wedding in New England. What a great way to start wedding season after a pandemic!
